Tayron mild-hybrid is bs

Got a new Tayron because I needed a 7 seater. I like the interior well enough, but disappointed that the “hybrid part is nothing but a marketing gimmick and/or regulatory defeat device.

I was expecting something like a Prius, with a bit of torque, in reality mild-hybrid just means “glorified starter motor”, and it’s just a totally under-powered and gutless ICE.

It’s powerfully weak, to the point you have to be careful driving, because if you need power you have to schedule it two weeks in advance.

Fine, some of the blame is on me. I read all the technical details, but the reality of it didn’t sink in until I got it. And I am (or was) an engineer ffs
