Sniping Yamato so early in the campaign was a little bit of an anti-climax.

I had full control in Guadalcanal and Rennel and the Japs decide to sent BB with 5 minions to bombard Rennel, at the end of week 2.

Wasp was around tho, with 12 Dauntless left so I launched them all. Upon finding them, I see a Yamato class (didn't know which one). I put all 12 Dauntless to attack it with AP, from the back. I've seen CA scratch that attack off with moderate damage.

But the Yamato class just kept burning and exploding until it sunk.

A bit of an anticlimax, to send the Yamato as the first BB I'd ever kill.

The same night, Shikaku and Wasp took themselves out by sending bombers towards one another.
