How do you women prevent from UTIs and other infection?

I’ve recently became sexually active and have seen my long distance boyfriend twice for a week obviously we did the deed pretty common and I mostly tried to keep clean after sex since we were using protection and lube feels weird, but both weeks I’ve gotten UTIs and this time a severe UTI and yeast infection I’m just wondering how you guys prevent from getting them too? I’m just kinda worried and sorta uninterested in doing it with him in fear that it’ll cause me this pain again can anyone recommend some sort of thing to do? I’m going to try use latex free condoms since but it doesn’t seem like it could be that it kinda doesn’t make sense🥲🥲
