AITA for thinking of breaking up with my bf because he doesn’t clean
So I’ve been dating a man for almost a year now and a month and a half ago we’ve moved in together. He’d told me he hated cleaning the floor and I’m not really into doing the dishes so we’ve decided I’d be the one to clean and he’d be the one to wash the dishes. I work at a bar for 12 hours every day and despite him leaving an hour and a half earlier I come home three hours later so he’s mostly the one who cooks us dinners. We do not have breakfast at home because we’re both quite a lot of sleepyheads. He’d also been saying that he doesn’t really care about his living conditions so I was the one to do most of the chores and buying new items like clothes drier, bed and linnen, dresser and kitchenware. We agreed that he’d pay for the rent but he only finally gets his may salary this month after getting a new job and I’ve paid the rent for June and July, since this was a bit easier for me
We were planning to buy a cat next year when everything is settled down in our new home but two weeks ago I saved a kitten from the vent at work and he suggested that we keep him. I’ve asked him twice if he was really ready to take responsibility for him and he said he was. Right now I’m mostly the one to feed our new cat and clean after him while he simply waits for when he starts trusting us enough for us to hold and pat him.
Last Wednesday I was having my only day off and could not wake up for too long. He kicked me out of bed asking if I was going to do anything that day. I was only able to go to the grocery store and cook lunch and dinner for us. A few days later I came home from work and he seemed angrier than usual. When I asked him what was wrong he said that he was upset that we’re both too lazy to do the chores. I felt upset because he was having a week off due to that he’d decided to quit his job for another job offer and I was the one he’d expected to still do all the cleaning. I’ve tried to talk it over with him but it seems like he hadn’t really listened
Yesterday I asked him to clean the balcony because our kitten was a bit messy with his litter box and I was leaving for work pretty late so I didn’t have the time to do this myself. I had to stay past my working hours and when I came home I was not only the balcony not cleaned but also that our kitten has stolen my bra from the drier that I’ve installed before work a day and a half ago and taken it to the balcony as well. This was when I kind of lost my temper and sent him a message saying “seems like you weren’t really ready for having a cat” (I was sitting beside my cat eating so he gains a little more trust in people and my bf was watching YouTube in the bedroom where the kitten isn’t allowed yet due to adaptation). He came into the room and yelled at me that he was having an exhausting third day at work and spent a lot of time ordering food and arguing with technical support because it wasn’t eventually delivered. I haven’t really said anything more and just let him leave back to the bedroom. Right now I’m not sure whether I’m truly ready to build the future with him and I’m thinking of what would happen when we have kids. I’m in doubts whether I’m overthinking for planning my finances to quietly move out and take the cat with me. So, WIBTA for doing this?
