I can't move on from bac .
Hello everyone,
I've been carrying this with me for the past year, and I thaught about sharing it .
I'm 19 years old. I got my BAC last year with 16.it wasn't enough to get me into medicine, and I ended up choosing a paramedical .
The problem is that, even after a year, I still feel the same way I did last summer. It still hurts that I didn't make it. I feel like I put so much effort into my studies only to end up on a career has no opportunities no growth it ain't worth that high marks. And more i spend time in it more confirm it.
The thing is, my family pushed me toward it because it offers job security. We weren't in a great financial situation, and my older brother has been unemployed for years, so I understand them . They were even against me listing medicine as my first choice, but I did it anyway. After that, I wanted to list other university majors, but they insisted that I choose paramedical instead.
What bothers me is that they never really listened to me. We never had an actual discussion about my options or what I wanted. It felt like my opinion didn't matter.
I honestly thought I'd get used to it with time , but after year I haven't. I still regret it and think about it often. What makes it even harder is that I expected a higher BAC score, so when I didn't achieve my goal, I started questioning what all that hard work was for.
I know this isn't the end of the world. I'm still young, and I know life can change. But I feel like I haven't been able to move on. Everyone else seems to have accepted their path and is focused on the future, while I'm still stuck thinking about something that can't be changed. ( I think being at the hospital makes it even harder. I see medical students every day, and I can't help imagining that I could have been one of them. And worse, doctors sometimes ask us, "Why didn't you choose medicine if you got a 16 . )
