Does anyone know of any trauma + DID informed therapists/psychiatrists/care providers at the Royal or elsewhere?
My friend has DID and can't afford private therapy. They aged out of CHEO, where they were previously getting care. Their old CHEO psychiatrist is refusing to refer them to anywhere (it has been almost a year) because he says he doesn't know of anyone at the Royal who is trauma + DID informed. This seems absurd to me since it is a mental health hospital, I thought if we could give him some names it might help. My friend has also been turned away from therapy at community health centers because it is generally shorter term and for people with simpler mental health concerns (anxiety, depression etc).
If anyone knows of any way my friend could be seen and get some support and care please let me know :( I hate this broken system and how many people they sweep into the cracks
