 Here's what happened.  
  
I'd been talking to a clinic owner for 2 weeks. Multiple calls. Detailed demos. Custom proposal. I was sure they'd sign.  
  
Then I got the message: "We've decided to go with \[established competitor\]. We don't want to experiment with a new tool right now."  
  
I stared at that message for 10 minutes.  
  
The word "experiment" stung. I'm not building an experiment. I'm building a solution.  
  
That night, I seriously questioned everything:  
\- Am I too early?  
\- Should I get a job?  
\- Is anyone going to trust a solo builder?  
  
Then the next morning, something happened.  
  
One of my existing customers — the one who IS using the system — sent me a message:  
  
"Hey, just wanted to tell you. Yesterday we had zero no-shows for the first time. My receptionist almost cried because she didn't have to send 50 WhatsApp messages manually."  
  
That one message undid all the doubt.  
  
Here's what I've learned about rejection in building:  
\- It's not personal  
\- One "no" doesn't define your product  
\- The customers who stay are worth 10x more than the ones who leave  
\- Every rejection teaches you something  
  
Two days after that rejection, I got 2 new leads from people who saw my posts.  
  
Keep going. The universe has a weird way of balancing things.
