Need help choosing paint colors
Due to storm damage I will be getting some interior work done. I am 68f and have never had anything but white walls. My preferred neutral is light grey for the living room walls. The dining room is open to the living room but no insurance work there so I have time to decide there. The kitchen is open to the family room which is shoebox shaped with the short wall dominated by an orange brick fireplace. Living room is west facing, all other rooms are east. I want the colors to flow through the house. My immediate decision is what color to paint the family room. I will be getting a dark carpet for that room. I am inclined to continue the neutral grey into that room but is that too much grey? Or would a faded green be better? I am leaning toward buttery yellow into the extremely small kitchen which is basically dominated by cabinets. The kitchen is semi open to the family room. Any advice is appreciated! Honestly never been able to do this on my own.
