do scars ever fade??

hii, i have scars from burning myself, yes..burning not cutting. (with a bobby pin, if its relevant), and i noticed they're taking a lot to fade. but its summer?? i cant hide them but my family cant see them, i think its been 3 months now. i mean, they are a little faded, but not enough.
