smurfing ban

Ticket number is (13967177) I want to add a highly critical piece of information to my case that I believe perfectly explains why your automated system falsely flagged my account for "smurfing" or account sharing.

As you may know, Discord is currently banned in Turkey. Because of this, I (and many other players here) am forced to use a VPN just to access the app and communicate with friends.

To be clear, I actually haven't played a match on FACEIT in 2-3 months. I only logged into my account recently to perform a routine password change for account security. However, during this login, my VPN for Discord was accidentally left running in the background, routing my connection through Switzerland (or another region).

I strongly suspect that your automated security system detected this sudden IP jump while I was just changing my password, and incorrectly assumed that another person was accessing my account—thereby triggering the smurfing/account sharing ban. I am the sole owner of this account, and no one else has ever played on it.

I have attached screenshots from my email proving my history of frequent password changes, as well as a screenshot showing my VPN active.

I kindly ask a human representative to manually review this context and the attached evidence. This was a completely innocent security measure on my part, complicated by regional internet restrictions. u/FACEIT_Darwin
