Yercaud trip

Hi, everybody

I am planning to visit yercaud next weekend, and i thought of renting a scootie from Salem and then going to yercaud.

But I tried calling some 3-4 rental shops in Salem, and they all said that they don't allow two wheeler rentals for yercaud. The reason they gave was that, it is banned in yercaud, and police will confiscate the vehicle and may impose a fine if found that the Vehicle is rented.

Anybody who've been to yercaud , can you help me, whether this is a thing there , or if even I get a scootie rental, is the police checking really strict there
