Hey everybody! I had an idea and I can’t decide if it’s a good one or not lol.

Option 1: on the left is my original design for the Necron spacers. They would be entirely made of titanium and would allow for a more customizable end product (anodizable end blocks *and* channels). But because of the size of the product and the amount of material being removed, production cost would be quite a lot, and I would most likely resort to a lower grade of Ti and an as-machined finish in order to bring costs down.

Option 2: this would be a titanium channel paired with a Nylon-12 3D printed end block/bumper. This design is less customizable as you could only really anodize the channel, *but* you would also be able to print the bumpers in different colors, preserve more of the original look of the knife (if thats your thing), and you’d have super cheap replaceable end blocks. Like on the order of a few bucks, shipped. The biggest reason for choosing this option however has to be the lowered production costs. It could be machined out of a smaller sample, much less material would have to be removed, and there would be fewer dimensions in the .step file. While this would bring the balance of the knife closer to the pivots, the factory weights could still be used to customize the balance. I also would be able to go with a higher grade of titanium and get it polished (keep your eyes out for a toxic ano wink wink).

But let me know what you guys think. Like I’ve said previously, I’d love to make this mod accessible to the community.
