Got pulled over for speeding but cop left before giving me a ticket

Anyone experienced this before in Suffolk? I got pulled over for speeding on the LIE. I went back and forth with him for a while trying to get out of it but failed and he took my license and registration. When he came back to my car to give them back, he said was going to give me a speeding ticket. He went back to his car and I think maybe 30 seconds to a minute went by and I looked in my rearview mirror and he was gone. I saw him on the other side of the LIE with his lights on. I stayed for another minute or so and then left. Is it likely I’ll get a ticket in the mail since he took my info?
