CmdPal dock extension for keeping track of Claude Usage
Hey r/PowerToys,
I built an extension for the dock in CmdPal after getting tired of Claude Code running out of tokens in the middle of projects. I wanted a way to easily keep an eye over current usage.
ClaudeUsage is a lightweight extension for the new PowerToys Command Palette that lets you check your Claude usage without leaving your keyboard.
It currently includes:
- π Live session & weekly usage in CmdPal
- π A detailed usage page with progress bars
- π A "low token" warning when you're close to your session limit
I also wanted it to be something I'd actually trust installing, so it's built with a strict zero-phone-home approach:
- Uses your existing local Claude Code credentials
- Talks only to Anthropic's official API
- No telemetry, tracking, or token collection
Built in C#/.NET 9. Free and open source (MIT).

If you're using Claude Code / PowerToys on Windows, I'd love to know what you think.
