Never realized how HOT it is in shops

Comedic Story

Asking everyone about there first time working in an outdoor shop/open bay door style shop. what was it like for you and did the heat humble you the same way it humbled me? for context I live in Arizona and some days it gets too 100 before 9AM. So I started my first tech job over at Firestone about three days ago and I was ecstatic. I got there and they welcomed me in and said today we want you to focus on one thing only getting used to the heat I was like okay cool I can do that. But oh fuck nothing could of prepared my ass for that long 8 1/2 hours of a sweat fest. by the third hour my ass almost passed out and they made me sit down for an hour or so inside everyone was getting me water and helping me. I must of had atleast a gallon and a half of water by the end of my shift the next day I came in and everybody said they had a pretty mutual experience starting out in the field and it’s okay to take a break and not kill yourself. yesterday was now my third day and I actually worked on a lot of cars and I was able to last the whole day without sitting down and feeling like I was gonna die on the clock. share your story’s about dealing with the heat for the first time did it put you down for the count the same way it did me let me know!
