The Hands That Made Her

I stood there for a while.
Not because I was trying to understand the drawing.
Because I couldn't stop looking at it.
People will probably see
a beautiful sketch of Maa Kali.
I saw something else.
I saw hours
that no one witnessed.
A hand that refused to quit.
Thousands of tiny strokes,
each one carrying patience,
each one carrying devotion.
As an artist myself,
I know what it means
to sit in front of a blank page.
To erase.
To redraw.
To doubt.
To continue anyway.
That is why
this drawing speaks louder to me.
Because it isn't just charcoal on paper.
It is discipline.
It is love.
It is respect
for the art itself.
Every strand of her hair
feels alive.
Every shadow
has intention.
Every ornament
looks like it belongs exactly where it is.
Nothing feels rushed.
Nothing feels accidental.
I cannot draw like this.
Not yet.
And strangely,
that doesn't make me jealous.
It makes me inspired.
Because watching another artist
create something extraordinary
doesn't make me feel smaller.
It reminds me
how limitless art truly is.
You didn't just draw a goddess.
You gave stillness
a heartbeat.
You made paper
carry divinity.
You reminded me
that great art
isn't created by talent alone.
It is created by patience.
By showing up
again and again,
until the hand
learns to speak
what words never could.
As one artist
to another,
thank you.
For reminding me
why I fell in love
with creating in the first place.
Some drawings are admired.
Some are remembered.
And then there are a rare few
that make another artist
put down their own pencil,
smile quietly,
and simply whisper,
"Wow."

Pata hai aaj kya hua ...

See what I got to witness today
