Hi, I’m installing an aftermarket CarPlay MMI box in a 2013 BMW F20 with a **CIC head unit and 4-pin LVDS**.
The original BMW system works normally when the screen is connected directly to the CIC head unit. However, when I connect everything through the MMI box, I get no picture / “No Signal”.
Connection:
**CIC head unit → MMI LVDS IN → MMI LVDS OUT → original screen**
What I have confirmed:
The head unit is definitely **HU\_CIC**
Original BMW screen and LVDS cable work when connected directly
MMI box powers on and shows a blue LED
The MMI Wi-Fi network appears
Radio and media buttons still work
Holding the MENU button for around 5 seconds seems to switch the system, because the iDrive controller stops controlling the original BMW menu
Still no CarPlay image or BMW image through the MMI LVDS output
I have tried changing the DIP switches and completely disconnecting power afterward
The MOST/fibre connection should only affect audio/network communication, not the screen video
Could incorrect DIP-switch settings completely prevent video output, or does this sound like a defective LVDS output/MMI box?
Does anyone know the correct DIP-switch configuration for a CIC Professional system in an F20, or anything else I should test with a multimeter?
