Hating kids openly is bigotry

Before you go about downvoting and proclaiming that you don’t have to like kids in the replies, yes, I understand that. I would rather people who don’t like kids know that and not have them around. However, it can’t be denied that many people who dislike or hate children literally cannot help but to proclaim it to everyone around them. I work with some women like this. Every time a child comes into our restaurant, cue the obvious eye roll and sigh, followed by an exasperated, “I HATE kids.” You talk to these people or around them about being excited for YOUR pregnancy or new family member, and they can’t help but to display their annoyance and disgust. They believe children shouldn’t be on airplanes or any public spaces for that matter, and if they make any kind of noise it’s because the parents suck and not because they’re small humans trying to learn to exist in society. I’ve seen so many people say kids should be banned from airplanes, as if people don’t travel for funerals, moving, all kinds of things. They’re small human beings, in fact the most vulnerable and oppressed humans in society with the least rights. They can feel it when you hate them and don’t want them there. We complain about all the societal issues and how much people suck…. Maybe they wouldn’t suck so much if we fostered a society where children and elderly people were valued and treated with general respect by the majority? It’s not okay to walk around saying “I hate women” or “I hate X race of people” so what makes it okay to say the same thing about kids? Again, you can downvote me to hell and deny it, doesn’t make you right. People love to have their selfish/terrible behavior validated on the internet.
