[Online][Nimble2][GMT][25+] Rebellion in the Grey Vale

LFP (Looking for Players)

Everyone has a reason to want the Grand Duke dead. Perhaps you've seen what he truly is. The thing that wears a man's skin and smiles from a gilded throne. Perhaps you've witnessed the disappearances or the dark rituals. Perhaps you suspected that the armies he was amassing weren't for the good of the people. Perhaps you've watched the Grey Vale wither under his rule as fear and corruption spread like a plague.

Or perhaps you simply know that if he isn't stopped, there won't be a Grey Vale left to save.

Whatever brought you here, you've found others who share your conviction. Soldiers. Scholars. Exiles. Warriors of Good. No one in the camp asks why you're here. Everyone already knows: The Grand Duke must die.

The only question is whether you'll survive long enough to kill him.

Hi there! My name is David (late 20s, he/him). I've been DMing weekly games for the past 6 years, two of which have been with the current party. The majority of that time has been spent running 5e, though recently we've been branching out into other systems (Worlds without number, shadow of the weird wizard, nimble).

The above hook is for the second arc of our long running campaign. The current party consists of 3 players, and we are looking for two more to fill out our ranks.

A note about nimble Nimble at it's core is 5e, but faster. It began as a system hack and has recently grown into its own fully fledged system that streamlines the slow stuff, so that the game runs more easily while still feeling like a 5e game. We chose to try nimble because we wanted some additional flexibility and speed ontop of what 5e already offers. If you are unfamiliar with the system, no worries, the group is new to it too and we will be learning together.

A little about me as a dm

As a GM I lean towards running character driven, collaborative games with an emphasis on story. Though I lean on the rules to help me keep the game on the rails, the feel of the story and the energy of the party definitely do weigh heavily into my decisions. Rule of cool is a phrase that has been said at my table, and I'm glad to use it when the situation calls for it.

For the most part, the games I run are light hearted. The characters can be silly and the situations are occasionally a little preposterous, but we do lean into some more serious moments when the story calls for it.

Player requirements:

  • a good mic / headset and a reasonably stable Internet connection
  • Access to some means of using discord and roll20 (laptop, PC, tablet)
  • A good grasp of the English language
  • Experience playing DnD or another roleplaying system.
  • a willingness to roleplay and get stuck into your character! No need for perfect accents, and flawless character studies, but roleplay is definitely going to be part of the game.
  • Relaxed, friendly vibes - we have become a group of friends through dnd, and continue to look for players that aren't just 'this person from my dnd group' but who are open to building friendships

Character Requirements:

Characters will be level 10 at the beginning of the campaign, likely getting up to level 15 by the end, so they should be someone with some real life experience. The campaign is set in a kingdom called the Grey Vale, which I'll tell you more about once we get chatting. Because the setting is homebrew, It's probably better to come with ideas rather than fully fleshed out characters, so we can work together to fit them into the setting and the world! My players are also happy to help you prepare and get familiar with the world and characters.

If the above interests you or you have questions, please message me to apply! Please ensure your application is detailed and includes what you like about the set up, what you hope to get out of the game and how you fulfil the above requirements.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
