Help with sleep in general please

desperate - do I need to sleep train again - will it work now and do I need to do it for the post 3am wakes also and let him cry as long as needed. any tips. Will any other methods apart from Ferber/cio work now? if he gets distressed he just looks up and cries so it’s hard to soothe him without picking him up, he always cries as soon as put down

wakes every 1 hour every night, with one 2 hour stretch somewhere needing patting and pacifier to go back to sleep so I end up bringing him into bed with me so I can pat him easier every hour.

we’ve have been unable at all to reduce the patting required over the past few weeks so seems he really needs the motion.

naps are 30 minutes so I try to extend 1 for 2.5-3 hours day sleep.

failed ferber because it was very difficult past 4am hr would cry a lot

this was on 2/2.5/2.5/3 which still attempting but generally he is tired due to poor overnight sleep
