Pay by Group while on Standard Plan

Hello - I am currently thinking of switching to the Standard plan (I am able to make the payment I am currently seeing). I noticed the "Pay by Group" option.

If I pay by group - does that cover the monthly payment? For example: My monthly payment is $200. I put $200 in Group A. Does that count as my payment for the month?

I saw a few comments while searching that it doesn't count despite many people recommending payment down student loan using this method. Which I am hoping to do so I can pay using the avalanche method.
