new player

I have a few questions: Should I use my gems solely for draft tokens? Also, how do you pull those high-rated players and farm shards? Do tradable players not drop anymore—how are we supposed to earn coins and buy players? I'm playing on a new account and have a 115 OVR; when should I start upgrading? Would it be worth it to upgrade now, or would it go to waste if I pull a higher-rated player later? Where should I use my surplus players? If I convert high-OVR players into shards, can't the other 105–110 OVR players be used in some kind of exchange?
