Unable to join a game since the latest update

Ever since the most recent update, whenever I try to load into any game of CS, it will load until the last step and then either freeze or crash completely. I already tried verifying integrity of the game files, and re-installing the game. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if so, how you fixed it.
