thoughts? why are BA programs looked down upon in the country?

i'm an incoming BA (prog w/ board exam) student at UPD and apparently i got told na yung mga hindi matatalino doon daw napupunta, and students in these programs pale in comparison to those in BS. I know for myself that this isn't true, it's just the twisted thinking of filipinos that prohibits our country to at the very least be progressive, and most likely ganito ang perspective ng karamihan dahil na rin sa opportunities after grad. but what are your thoughts about this?
