Why can’t you gift movies from Apple Store?

This seems like an obvious feature to have, to be able to gift movies by entering the email to the recipient. It’s available in some countries but not in many, such as the US. I was just rewatching Caveat and would have loved to send it to a friend of mine. If they allowed it Apple would surely generate a lot of revenue this way!!
