M25, how you should treat your hair loss if under 35 (M/F).
Step 1: Calm down. It is reversible. You have noticed it which is good.
Step 2: Visit a trichologist. NOT a dermatologist.
Reason: A dermatologist will often write you medications and tell you to come back in three months. A trichologist will call for trichoscopy and biopsy. It will find the root cause of your hair loss.
Step 3: Accept the diagnosis. Don't shave your head if you don't want to. There is nothing to normalize here. If you are going to be bald, be gradually. Remember, in most cases, hair loss is completely or at least partially reversible.
Step 4: Trust your doctor and remember it takes at least 3-6 months to show results.
Step 5: Don't obsess over your hair all day during this six months. Easier said than done, but you'll be lost in reddit and just look at bald heads all day. I've been there. Break your mirror if necessary.
Step 6: Eat, sleep and workout well. Not only for your hair, but your overall health which matters for healthy hair growth too.
Step 7: You're very unlikely to need this step, but if for some reason you don’t recover, remember it is just strands of Keratin. You may also go for a transplant or a wig, it's just your choice.
Don't bully yourself.
