I'm mostly just using this as an excuse to gush about these games tbh. I loved these teams. The only disappointment was Bellossom. 11/12 success rate is genuinely crazy.

First six were from the Soul Silver team. I started this one first, and it was the third game in my main game no repeat gauntlet.

\-This team was just built as I went through the game, going entirely based on vibes. I went based on a combination of their capabilities in HGSS and their capabilities in GSC (some pokemon are so much worse in GSC, so I wanted to leave enough pokemon that were still good and not too affected such as Ampharos, Ursaring, Quagsire, Skarmory, etc)

\-Didn't know the type of team I wanted, I just knew I wanted to use some not too common pokemon.

\-I decided on mine and my friends' discord tags for nickname theme.

Now, onto the next

The last six was the Heart Gold team. This team was the 5th in my main game no repeats gauntlet and done mostly while I was watching Chuggaaconroy's playthrough.

\-I built this team in my completed Soul Silver copy and traded them over, creating everything very specifically like a mad scientist. I did everything meticulously. Insomnia on Hoothoot, Dragon Dance on Totodile, Relaxed nature on Tangela, even Heracross being female. Everything was done with cautious intent.

\-I followed a similar theme of mostly rare pokemon. Just a couple of them are commonly used, but most aren't too common.

\-The nickname theme here was OCs of mine

These playthroughs both had some of my favorite moments.

\-Both starters ended up clutching up against Lance big. Typhlosion being the last remaining against Lance's ace Dragonite, which was around 1/3 HP as Typhlosion hit a crit+burn Flamethrower (1/16x1/10), allowing it to live an Outrage and the burn to kill Dragonite. Feraligatr swapped in on Gyarados after Noctowl lived a crit and set up Reflect (I didn't think it could've survived a crit, but Noctowl proved me wrong), barely survived with 4 HP after setting up four Dragon Dances, and swept with Torrent+Mystic Water+stab +4 Waterfalls and Ice Fangs.

\-Both playthroughs had some pokemon shine way more than expected. Girafarig completely dominated so many sections with its stab and coverage while Tangrowth went insane with its movepool and carried so many fights.

\-Both playthroughs had a clear MVP that showed their dominance proudly. Steelix soloing much of the early game with just Rock Throw and Headbutt (I didn't know Dig was also buyable in Celadon, so I didn't teach it) before getting better moves later on and carrying while Heracross used its sheer strength to blitz through everything

\-Both playthroughs had a hidden pokemon that didn't outshine their expectation nor reach MVP status, but what quietly there and constantly consistent. Politoed with its Swiss army knife movepool and decent bulk and Houndoom with its insane firepower (pun not intended) and stabs.

\-Both had annoying spouts of grinding. The level 75 grind at Mt. Silver for Soul Silver (even after stealing a Lucky Egg from a Chansey) and the post Johto Battle Frontier grind in Heart Gold for the Flame Orb to pre burn Heracross, Heat Wave on Noctowl, and Ice Punch on Feraligatr.

So, I'll let this small community decide. Which team do you prefer?

Final team comparison (already beat Red in both games)
