So little situation here. My boyfriend (33m) and I (25f) have been together for a year. I've noticed a lot of things which could be potential autism or signs of it. Because of my job, I'm trained to pick up on these signs in children/help them develop healthy coping mechanisms etc and do it full time. 

Something that really blew up last night was me going out with my friends. I had mentioned during the week that on Friday I'd be going out with some friends for drinks at the pub. My boyfriend was aware of this. He asked me how long he thinks I'll be and I told him probably around 3 hours. He does this a lot, asks for time limits and gets very irritated when the time limits run over. 

I myself have been diagnosed ADHD since 2018.  Meaning I'm spontaneous and thrive off of good vibes and energy more so than non-neurodivergant individuals. It literally fuels my motor and its adjacent to an excited puppy. 

Last night when I was at the pub, I bumped into another group of friends whom I hadn't seen for a while and got to talking. We made plans to move onto another pub in another area. I had already been at the first pub longer than 3 hours. 

Once we arrived at the 2nd pub I called my boyfriend to let him know that I was still going to be out and have bumped into other friends and we've moved on to another pub. 

He completely flipped and became very upset that I didn't explain to him that I was moving to another pub BEFORE I went. My boyfriend has my location as we are long distance and like to make sure that each other arrives home and to work safely. So he could see where I was. 

A few points I made to him were that I wasn't drunk, I was dressed nicely and comfortably, he had my location and I had called him once we arrived at the new place, I'm in an area I know and I'm with a group of friends so I'm safe. 

Apparently this wasn't the problem for him. He was fixated on the fact that I didn't tell him we had to decided to go to pub 2 before we got to pub 2. He told me that I had originally said I'd be 3 hours maximum but now have stayed out past the time I had said and it was like I was lying to him. 

He brought up that this isn't the first time this has happened or the first time he's raised this concern. To my knowledge, this situation has only happened once before. 

So my question is, is this reaction partly to due to his broken 'routine' and things that have changed? The fact that I said one thing and didn't stick to it because plans developed? Or is he just being unreasonable here? 

Is this a trait of autism?
