3 weeks on Mounjaro
Hi everyone, I've just joined your community!
For the past 10 years, ever since a family trauma, I've been slowly and steadily gaining weight. For the last two years, I hit a plateau at 115 kg (about 253 lbs) for 1m57 (about 5'2"). I decided it was time to make some changes.
I reached out to a specialized center in Geneva, Switzerland, where I first started working with a nutritionist about my habits — photographing my food and trying to figure out what had gone off track. Aside from adding breakfast (just an egg), she actually found my eating habits quite good. I cook everything myself and have balanced meals. She just adjusted my 4 p.m. sugar craving and added more fiber to help balance my glucose peaks. Nothing drastic — my portions were only slightly reduced. Still, nothing changed.
She then suggested adding some movement, so I signed up with a physiotherapist: once a week to build a sustainable workout plan, plus twice-weekly 15-minute resistance training sessions. I already walk and bike everywhere, so things seemed to be going well. But after 6 months of this, my weight hadn't budged.
So the last step was to see a doctor. By the week of my first consultation, I'd already dropped 2 kg (about 4.4 lbs) on my own, it was a crazy discovery. It's now been 3 weeks since I started Mounjaro at 2.5 mg, and I'm down to 108 kg (about 238 lbs) — losing about 2 kg (roughly 4 lbs) per week. My doctor feels that's a bit fast, so we're keeping the dosage steady for now. I had troubles in my digestion, my meals were flushed in the toilets less than an hour after a meal, this disappeared completely. I have zero side effects. I'm still eating the exact same way - just less (half of my usual portions).
I've simply never been able to lose weight before. It feels unreal.
