Why use brave without the shield ?

I am using brave as I am writing this. I find it very unusual or weird when people turn off brave shield and uses something like ubo.

Of course ubo is much better and more robust. However it tends to break sites more if you are using it like that on more strict settings. Brave shield is the balance even on aggressive settings it does not breaks sites as much.

I know there are many other features to brave like Javascript blocking but i have seen people install no script extensions on it instead of using that lol.

I find this all very weird. No problem with using no script even though brave shields​ and ubo already takes care of it.

But what i find the most unusual is that.

Why use brave in the first place if you are just going to turn off all of its features like brave shield and Javascript blocking and use a 3rd party extension, which brave does not even supports properly anymore.

Why not just use a different browser instead of brave if you are not going to use the features of brave anyway. Like wouldn't it make more sense to use a browser that supports ubo and no script properly.

As in firefox based browser or helium browser or anything like that.

I have seen so many people here complain about how thier brave does not support ubo anymore and its o weird.

Like when i used ubo i used to use ironfox and librewolf. It had a lot of friction because i was on a very strict settings in ubo with yk a lot of 3rd party scripts.

So i came back to brave because i figured while ubo is obviously better, its mostly unnecessary for my use case scenario. Like its an overkill.

Another thing people complain about is how brave while does supports ubo script it does not work properly or as efficiently as ubo does. Which makes sense but why would you want to use ubo design script on something that is not ubo. Brave while it gives you the freedom to do it. It is recommended that you only use the scripts the comes out of the box in brave. Like the one you can toggle on or off. Since those are the scripts brave maintain themselves and they mostly work and are only broken on very rare cases.

I don't have a problem with any browser i just don't understand why people turn off all the features of brave which brave made it in a way so that it works best on the browser. And then replace those very features with some 3rd party extensions. And then complain if brave supports it or not.

Like just use the ones that brave supports or use a different browser that supports those extensions.

Its like complaining how awful google chrome is with ads and tracker. But at the same time insist on using it instead of using something better suited for them.

Now, that being said this is just something i wanted to get out. Because every now and then i have seen people complain on this sub that "ohh brave turned off the support for MV2 extensions" or "how to get x extensions working on brave" which clearly doesn't work properly.

Just use brave as it is intended to be used or use something else that works for you lol.
