Should I still play the game even if I got spoiled?

Hi all!

After the game awards, and after my friends played and loved the game - my hype started to build and I've been waiting for a good time to start the game.

One of the friends decided to spoil the story for me (out of shits and giggles I suppose?) and told me that >!Gustave dies!<, and the when I started the game today, guess what - >!I play as Gustave!<!

And yeah, the next thing was >!that they live in a painting!<.

So yeah, when I clicked play today, I felt "meh" more than excitement and hype, and when they called the paintress, well... I don't know what it made me think or feel. Just that I kinda know the big reveal of the story (which I might be wrong by the way)

I guess these things will impact the emotional impact and experience I'm gonna have, and that's why I'm asking you guys - is it still worth it? Will I still enjoy the story? Is the gameplay worth it? Am I hating on the guy too much?

The music so far is sublime, graphics are nice (though I've seen better), and I like the 3 main characters I interacted with so far.
