How to find a perfect second dog?

Hi all! We’re looking to add a second pup to our family and are looking for some advice on how to know when we find the one. Our current dog is 2, LOVES daycare, and has only had issues with a single other dog who is super dominant. We went to a meet and greet at a rescue and our pup wasn’t bad by any means, just seemed indifferent? Should we be looking for some kind of immediate connection? TIA!
