ASUS Vivobook S 15 S5507QA, Adreno X1-85 gets Code 43 or black screen only during boot, works after disable and re-enable

I have an ASUS Vivobook S 15 S5507QA with a Snapdragon X Elite.

BIOS: S5507QAD.368, dated March 4th, 2026 Qualcomm graphics driver: 31.0.96.0 Windows 11 build: 26200.8728

The Qualcomm Adreno X1-85 GPU fails during boot. Sometimes the laptop black-screens; other times Windows reaches the desktop using the Microsoft fallback display driver and Device Manager shows Code 43. This started on June 9-10th when I only wanted to install a Patch Tuesday update.

The unusual part is that disabling and re-enabling the Adreno GPU in Device Manager immediately clears Code 43. The failure returns after another reboot.

Fast Startup enabled often allows Windows to reach the desktop using the fallback driver. A full cold boot with Fast Startup disabled tends to black-screen while the Qualcomm driver initializes.
