What evidence from my own DNA sample supports my paternal haplogroup assignment to I-L22?
I wasn’t asking what a haplogroup is.
I wasn’t asking how haplogroups work in general.
I was asking for the kit-specific technical evidence behind my result.
After multiple requests, 23andMe support confirmed they could not provide:
• kit-specific technical substantiation for my I-L22 assignment,
• a published policy explaining whether customers can request that substantiation,
• or a documented process for obtaining that evidence.
Instead, I was directed back to the consumer-facing Haplogroup Report and Scientific Details page, which do not answer the questions I asked about the evidence supporting my specific assignment.
I’m not saying my haplogroup is wrong.
I’m saying that when I asked for the technical basis of the assignment reported for my DNA sample, 23andMe support was unable to provide it.
The screenshots below are from my conversation with support.
I believe customers should be able to understand the evidentiary basis for genetic lineage assignments made about their own DNA.
What do you think? Should DNA companies provide customers with kit-specific technical substantiation when they ask for it?

I asked 23andMe one simple question:
