pcos and dandruff?

i remember hearing somewhere that pcos causes dandruff - and mine is pretty bad and it’s been a hassle for at least a few years now
i have a day or 2 of normal-ish scalp after washing my hair and then i get pretty itchy and very flakey

i started metformin a couple days ago and it could be a coincidence but it seems it’s gotten worse

does anyone else have this symptom/ had any success getting rid of it?
