Seeds to surface, there has got to be an easier way

Hoping someone can give me a suggestion that I've overlooked. I've been trying to get seeds from the underwater pods up to my boat, and this has been an exercise in pure frustration and carpal tunnel.

It has literally taken me 30 minutes to dive down, get to the pod in about 10 seconds using the little jet device, and then it takes 10 minutes each time to ascend holding the blasted seed in my hands one by one.

Not only is this slow as all get out, but since I have to hold the mouse button down the entire time this is killing my wrists and hands.

Has anyone found a better way? Someone mentioned that the seeds float, so I tried that, then promptly was unable to find any of the seeds again.

I've tried building Lazarus pods on the bottom putting seeds in them and then sticking them on a donk pallet, that doesn't work they just fall off.

It would be nice if there was some way to hook up a mount to a seed pod or pods and then drag them along with you through the water.

The experience was so literally painful and slow that it made me just want to quit right there, and I love this game.

Any thoughts on what I might be doing wrong?
