I watched all the Evil Dead movies and came to a conclusion!

This year I rewatched all the Evil Dead films up to Rise, even watching 2013 and Rise for the first time (Will probably watch Burn whenever it hits streaming) and I came to the conclusion that I honestly don’t hear a lot of people talk about so maybe there could be a discussion here.

I think that if you aren’t going to have Ash in the movie, you gotta make the demons funny. The humor is what makes Evil Dead unique to me.

I realized this watching Evil Dead 2013 and it definitely feels different without Ash but I genuinely think what makes the franchise for me besides the imagery is the humor. If you are going to move the franchise past Ash but still have that Evil Dead recognition then you should definitely make the demons funny and crazy. The demons weren’t especially humorous in 2013 but I thought Evil Dead Rise actually brought back the meaner cussing bully demons and they had some pretty funny lines. I hope Burn has that same energy for the demons.
