Enshittification of customer support has hit an unacceptable level.
Have a simple, human-solveable question or problem.
Call customer support.
Wade through 10 minutes of pre-recorded options and voice bots for options you don't need.
Get connected with a human. HA. Nope. "We're experiencing higher than normal call volume. Please wait for the next available agent."
Connected with a human. "Sorry, that for <insert here> department. Let me transfer you."
Optional more extended holds and voice menus. Optional wrong department and more transfers.
Finally get connected to a human, correct department. "Sorry, we can't do <incredibly simple thing>. You'll need to submit a support ticket to <email that won't get responded to for weeks/ months>.
Finally get a response, asking if you've done <insert basic, easily googleable first step, (no relation to the thing you actually need done)>.
Throw phone out the window.
Never call customer support again.
My great grandpa didn't fight Nazi Germany for this.
We deserve better.
