State auto inspection
I have a 2017 Chevy that was purchased in CT in 2020. It passed state inspection in 2020, 2022, and 2024. I took it to a Midas location for the latest inspection only because they did them on Saturdays, but they failed it due to tint. The thing is, the glass does not have tint applied. Yes, all glass is very slightly darker than my other cars, but it came that way, and it's the actual glass that is very slightly smoked. You can see in it just fine. It's never been an issue in '20, '22, and '24, yet Midas said I have to remove the tint. The only way to do that is to replace all the glass, which is probably more than the value of the entire vehicle.
I'd go back to the place that did it previously, but wouldn't this raise a red flag for another inspection station if it's in the system for this reason? This is so frustrating.
