Breaking into quant finance from a commerce background - realistic roadmap?

Hi everyone,

I’m Shrushti and I have a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours Course) from University of Delhi and several years of experience trading my own capital in the equity and derivative markets.

My goal is to eventually work as a quantitative researcher or quantitative developer and I’m looking for feedback on the following questions:

1. If you were starting today with my background, what would you prioritize learning over the next 12–24 months?
2. Would a strong portfolio of quantitative research projects be enough to offset the lack of a traditional STEM degree?
