Rums for espresso Old Fashioned

Gonna experiment with a rum old fashioned with a coffee element. Serving to guests so I want it interesting but approachable.

What rums do you think work well for an old fashioned with a hint of coffee?

Also do you think a coffee liqueur or a bit of espresso and Demerara syrup would do better?
