how many patients don’t realise that they are only seeing a general dentist and not someone who is specialised because it seems people only realise when the general dentist does a bad job and they go down the rabbit hole and see dentist are given the most leniency within the health sector as to what care they can carry out and provide.

an example of this is orthodontics, general dentist promote themselves as if they are specialist when in fact they are general dentist and do not really have any substantial qualifications in moving teeth and understanding the anatomy of the mouth and how it connects to more parts of your body which can effect your overall health.

only 1 dentist has ever said to me that they are not specialist, that they are only a general dentist with special interest and went further on to explain this, which I really respected because dentist don’t disclose this before offering treatments usually.

I just want to know if other patients feel the same!
