I'm running for student council president my coming senior year and I'm pretty scareddddd!!! Elections are gonna start the week before school and end the second week after school starts so I dont really have time to build my popularity up from what it was (I have a some friends here and there in the younger grades and most of my current year knows me. Other than that I'd say I'm known for all the extracurriculars I've taken part in over the past year: winning awards, taking important positions in a school club, elected as secretary of the student council, managing an internship program)

I was also elected for secretary of the student council last year but my competition wasn't nearly as tough (I was running against one "popular-ish" girl that didnt really try because she thought she'd automatically win. This year though im running against four girls and one guy, making a total of SIX candidates (including me)!!!

One girl im running against is not very well known at all and hasnt done many extracurriculars for the school, matter of fact she told me she was running just to put the fact that she ran on her resume. The other girl is pretty well known but not very socially active in our grade like the two other girls in our grade, she never takes part in organizing mainstream class activities either.

Two of the girls I'm running against are VERY stereotipically popular (but not the same friendgroup), and one of them has taken control over a lot of what we do as a year/batch along with her friend group (hangouts, social media accounts, senior jackets), to the point where its really hard to get involved. It actually feels even harder for someone like me, who has done a lot for the school in terms of extracurriculars to be involved in what they do, almost like they dont want me to have the opportunity to contribute.

Im afraid I wont be able to win against them for the reasons below:

• I'm not as popular/dont have as many friends

• My actions as school secretary and in other extracurriculars might not convince people (especially in my year) compared to what they have done for our grade in terms of hangouts, senior jackets, etc.

• five girls are running (including me) against one guy!!! I feel no matter how well I run, the guy running is going to have a major advantage, getting many of the boy votes simply because he's the only guy, while votes from girls will be split amongst us

HOW CAN I FIGHT AGAINST THESE DISADVANTAGES
