Individual Character ranked?

Hey all, I just got back in to the game after Evo and I’m wondering if there’s ever been a discussion about having a ranked score for individual characters like other more traditional fighting games. I assume the reason it isn’t there is because counterpicking is more common in platform fighters, just checking for clarification/if anything has been said.

Thanks!
