I would like your opinion on my career situation.
I have applied for two positions with the CRA: Administrative Assistant and Taxpayer Services Agent . So far, I have only been invited to complete the Korn Ferry assessment for the Taxpayer Services Agent position.
I'm not particularly interested in working in a call centre, but since I am currently unemployed, I don't feel I have the luxury of being too selective.
My background is mainly as an Executive Assistant, including experience working for the government. I enjoyed the role, but it also came with significant pressure and responsibility because I supported senior management and regularly dealt with head office and VIP stakeholders.
Given my experience, would you recommend that I continue pursuing an Executive/Administrative Assistant career, or should I consider building a career with the CRA as a Taxpayer Services Agent? In terms of long-term career growth, job stability, stress level, salary progression, and future opportunities within the federal government, which path would you recommend and why?
