Do I need to give my ex money to take the kids out if he pays child maintenance?

He only pays £30 per month and that is obviously nothing compared to the cost of actually feeding, clothing, cleaning and entertaining two kids for a month.

He’s suddenly decided since I applied for this £30 child maintenance that he wants to start taking them out for tea once a month. To McDonald’s or Burger King or whatever. So he’s asked if I can give that £30 per month back to him to cover the cost.

That’s not how this works right? Like if he wants to take them out he should be coming up with the money himself or taking them to his place and cooking something.
