Full story: The Software Engineering

The Software Engineering Career We Were Promised Doesn’t Exist Anymore🤕🤕

A few years ago, the advice was simple:

Learn to code.
Build a few projects.
Get a software engineering job.
Enjoy a stable, high-paying career.
That advice worked for many people.
Today, it’s different.
AI has changed how software is built. Companies are hiring more carefully. Junior positions are harder to find.💔 Many experienced developers are struggling to get interviews, while thousands of graduates compete for the same roles.

This doesn’t mean software engineering is dead.😵
It means the rules have changed.📏
If you’re starting today, don’t learn programming just because someone on YouTube or LinkedIn said it’s the best career 😂
Ask yourself what area actually interests you.
Instead of trying to learn everything, specialize:
AI & Machine Learning
Cybersecurity
Cloud & DevOps
Embedded Systems
Data Engineering
Mobile Development
Backend Systems
Build projects that solve real problems, not just tutorial clones.❌❌
Also, remember that social media often gives a distorted view of reality….
You’ll see people announcing six-figure jobs, influencers claiming coding is dead, or endless “We’re hiring!” posts….
None of those tell the full story. The real market is somewhere in between.
The developers who will succeed over the next decade won’t necessarily be the ones who write the most code. They’ll be the ones who understand business problems, communicate well, adapt quickly, and know how to use AI effectively.
Software engineering is still an amazing field🎓
But it’s no longer an easy path🥹
It’s a field that rewards continuous learning and adaptation💪🏻💪🏻
