A relationship is over when you and your partner can't work together anymore.
When there's no agreement on how to resolve conflict, on how to communicate, or how to move forward, it's basically over.
I've seen too many relationships go on for years, with one partner earnestly wanting to find peace or to connect with the other partner, and the other wants nothing to do with the first.
When they check out, it's for the best you check out too, or you'll be waiting for months or years for someone to work with you who absolute doesn't want to.
