I HATE HOUSEWORK but I want to DO it at least

Rant/Vent

Hey everyone

I'm 25, still living at home for various reasons (mostly finances). I really do my best to be a decent person to live together with. I clean after myself, I make space when someone else wants to use the kitchen/living room/bathroom, I pay rent to my mom, and honestly I'm just holing up in my bedroom most of the time.

I do "simple" chores like my own laundry, I take out the trash, I unload the dishwasher, etc. Small stuff like that. My mom cooks for herself and her husband and I cook for myself. I also buy my own food, cleaning supplies, you get it.

Unfortunately, my mom is extremely unhappy with me. She regularly freaks out at me because I don't do stuff like vacuuming, mopping, dusting. We live in an apartment so it's not like super huge. She says I need to pull my weight and that she's already convinced that once I move out, my place will be a dirty mess

I just hate doing chores. Absolutely, genuinely, despise it. Everything is so cluttered at home. I have to move a bunch of stuff out of the way. I hate the noise of the vacuum cleaner. I hate that it's so exhausting and annoying, and I feel guilty because my mom has to do it all by herself. She doesn't believe me that I also just simply FORGET! I don't want to use it as an excuse, but I swear it just keeps slipping my mind.

I'm crying in my bed bc I feel so inadequate and childish and useless
