Is it okay to have multiple career options paths? (Asking for advice)
So I’m 20, graduated highschool a little late so I’m figuring out now what to do. I’ve been wanting to do accounting the last year (I don’t need to hear about ai taking over it and blah blah blah). It’s what I want to do, but there’s also a part of me that wants to do a blue collared job/trade job, which one? I have no clue. I looked into electrical engineering, welding, and so many more. I’m thinking of continuing to do my bachelors for accounting then doing some trade school on the side, or even get basic certifications for like flagging or something to get my foot in the door. They’re complete opposite ends of careers but I love having choices and both interests me. Is this unrealistic? Should I just focus on one? Also the reason I’m mainly asking is because for accounting I’m planing to uproot my life and move to Chicago completely on my own (maybe with roommates for rent ofc) but I’d be on my own financially and stuff.
If I got some basic certifications I can get online, does Chicago have an okay scene for entry level stuff like that? Or should I just focus on getting experience for accounting. Btw I already have a year of night auditing so I have a little experience there!
